ACQUIREE
The company being purchased or acquired in an acquisition or merger. The acquiree is sometimes referred as the "target firm."
Often, the acquiree will be able to view a short-term movement in its shares price to resemble the price per share which was paid by the acquirer. This can be a negative or positive amount.
