ADJUSTED DEBIT BALANCE
An amount in the margin account which is owed to the broker, minus balances in a special miscellaneous account (SMA) and profits on short sales. The adjusted debit balance assist the investor by showing how much is owed if a margin call activates. According to Regulation T, an individual can extend the borrowed sum up to 50% of securities' purchase price on margin.
