ADVANCE CANVASS
A technique employed by companies to gain a "buzz" in advance of a promotional campaign or a new product launch, by paying a visit to retailers to garner support. The advance canvassing technique is usually done whenever the launching is at hand, because its effectiveness may be reduced if it is done well ahead.
