BROAD EVIDENCE RULE
Valuation rule indicating the guidelines to follow in computing the actual value of damaged, lost, or stolen property. Used by insurance companies, the rule determines the monetary value they should pay out in the event of a claim. But it does not specify any one method in valuing a property, only the means that most precisely shows the real cash value of the property will be used.
