BUREAU OF PUBLIC DEBT
Division, under the US Department of Treasury, responsible for borrowing funds in order to maintain accounts of the federal government’s outstanding debts and services to other agencies. The agency obtains debt funding by selling fixed-income securities including Treasury bills, notes, bonds, and other debt instruments.
