CHARGING ORDER
Court order authorizing a judgment creditor to include distributions made from a company such as limited partnership (LP) or limited liability company (LLC), to a debtor who is a partner of the business entity. Normally limited to the amount of judgment, it is similar to garnishment of income. The creditor management has no rights in the entity or cannot interfere in the management of the entity to which the borrower is a partner or member.
