COLLATERAL SOURCE RULE
Common law rule of evidence referring to punitive or other damages a plaintiff received due to disability, injury, or illness. The rule obliges the damages awarded in court cannot be deducted by any amount of other income sources used to shoulder the damages a victim endured.
