CONVERSION
Exchanging a convertible security such as bond or preferred stock into a common stock, normally at a preset price or before a predetermined date. This feature is a financial derivative instrument valued separately from the underlying security. Hence, an embedded conversion feature adds up to the securirty’s overall value.
