COOKE RATIO
Ratio indicating the amount of capital a bank should have as a percentage of its total risk-adjusted assets. The computation determines the minimum capital adequacy standard banks must maintain in the event of sudden losses. The First Basel Accord of 1988 stated the Cooke Ratio must be at least 8%.
