CREDIT SPREAD OPTION
Financial derivative contract which transfers credit risk from one party to another. The buyer pays the initial premium in return for potential cash flows should a specific credit spread change from its present level. The buyer of this option will receive cash flows if the difference between two given benchmarks widens or narrows. Such options come in the form of both calls and puts to allow long and short credit positions.
