CROSS-PURCHASE AGREEMENT
Document allowing a firm’s partners or other shareholders to acquire interest or shares of an incapacitated, retiring, or deceased partner. Used in business continuation planning, it indicates how the remaining partners should distribute the shares such as proportional distribution based on every partner’s stake in the corporation. Also known as buy and sell agreement.
