CUMULATIVE TRANSLATION ADJUSTMENT - CTA
Income section entry on a balance sheet which outlines the gains or losses from various exchange rates through the years. Assets obtained in a foreign currency must be indicated at their current exchange rates in order to show actual gains or losses. In the United States, this is required as per the Financial Accounting Standards Board.
