EEK
Currency abbreviation for the Estonian kroon, the official currency of the Republic of Estonia. In 1928, it became the official currency of the country after replacing the Estonian mark. The Soviet ruble replaced the EEK in 1940 when the Soviets invaded Estonia, and remained the country’s currency until 1992. The same year, it was revived for the second time as the official currency and pegged to the Deutsche mark.
