Its main function is to ensure balanced and organized trading, as well as efficient dissemination of price information for any securities trading on the exchange. The exchange, can refer to a physical location, gives a platform for firms, governments, and other groups to conduct business and/or to sell securities to investors. May also be called bourse or share exchange, depending on geographical area.
