EXCULPATORY CLAUSE
Contract provision relieving one party of a liability if damages are caused during its execution. The party issuing this clause is normally the entity seeking to be cleared of the possible liability. For instance, a venue may include an exculpatory clause on the concert tickets being sold, indicating the organizers won’t be held responsible for any incurred injury caused by employees or other individuals during the concert.
