EXPENSE RATIO
Gauge determining the costs an investment firm to operate a mutual fund. Computed annually, it is determined by dividing the operating expenses by the assets’ value under management. Operating expenses are taken away from a fund’s assets and reduces the return to its investors. Also called management expense ratio (MER).
