FORM 8396: MORTGAGE INTEREST CREDIT
A tax form issued by the IRS used by filers who seek to claim mortgage interest credit on their tax return. To claim a mortgage credit, he or she has to first obtain a Mortgage Credit Certificate, which is usually issued by state or local governments and agencies.
