ILLIQUID
Asset or security that cannot be sold or exchanged quickly into cash without the possibility of losing a substantial value. It cannot be sold immediately due to a shortage of interested investors or speculators to purchase the asset. The lack of ready buyers also results to bigger discrepancies between the ask price (from seller) and bid price (from buyer) than would be found in an organized market with day-to-day trading activity.
