INTER-VIVOS TRUST
In estate planning, a fiduciary relationship that is established during the lifetime of the trustor for the benefit of another such as a trust created by a parent for an offspring. Also called a living trust, it has a duration deemed at the trust’s creation that can include distribution of assets to the beneficiary before or after the trustor dies. Conversely, a testamentary trust takes effect after the trustor’s death.
