ISSUER
A legal entity that develops, registers, and sells securities to the investing public to fund its own operations. Issuers can be a government, corporation or investment trust and are legally liable for the mandates of the issue, as well for submitting financial conditions, material developments, and any other operational activities. Some of the common types of securities include common and preferred stocks, notes, bonds, bills, derivatives, and debentures.
