LIMITED PURPOSE TRUST COMPANY
A state chartered trust company designed to perform some trust functions such as acting as depositor and safekeeping mortgages and securities for a firm or financial institution. Its activities are only limited to performing any actions needed or incidental for executing its powers. The Participants Trust Company and Depository Trust Company in New York are some examples of a limited purpose trust companies.
