MANDATORILY REDEEMABLE SHARES

Shares owned by an individual or entity that should be redeemed for cash or another asset at predetermined time or after a specific event. The shares, issued by employers, serve as a sort of compensation kicker to employees. But the employer would require employees to get the shares for cash or bonds; for instance, in case of a certain events or timelines such as the death of an individual or a worker quitting the company.
