MASTER-SERVANT RULE
A legal guideline that states the employer (principal) are accountable for their employees’ (agent) actions in several circumstances. If an employee acts negligently, regardless whether the employer is aware or not, the latter could pay fines or face a lawsuit. Since the responsibility is on the employer, the principal should supervise the agent’s acts and set guidelines to achieve appropriate employee behavior.
