MEMBER OF HOUSEHOLD
An individual that can be called as a dependent in submitting year-end tax forms. The dependent lets a taxpayer to be qualified for the dependency tax exemption. The IRS defines dependent as a household member who can be a relative or a non-relative. But for a non-relative to be considered a household member, the person should meet the relationship requirements stated by the IRS.
