METROPOLITAN STATISTICAL AREA - MSA
Metropolitan areas determined by the Office of Management and Budget, a division of the US government. These areas serve town or county borders, which are based on urban areas, into specific geographic areas for census data and gathering related statistical data. Previously called Standard Metropolitan Statistical Area (SMSA).
