MICHIGAN LEADERSHIP STUDIES
Well-known series of leadership studies that originated at the University of Michigan in 1950s, which aims to determine the principles and types of leadership styles that resulted to greater productivity and refined job satisfaction among employees. The studies pointed out two broad leadership styles: employee orientation and production orientation. It also identified three immediate characteristics of efficient leaders: task-oriented behavior, relationship-oriented behavior, and participative leadership.
