MOCK AUCTION
A scam by which con artists work as a team to sell low-quality or bogus products to customers who believe they will be getting a good deal. In a mock auction, scam team members act to be very pleased customers. They will pretend as if they have gotten very high quality or value products for a bargain price. These con artists will entice real consumers to buy nothing more than an empty box or a broken item. After the transaction, they will pack up and leave as fast as they can before anyone can notice the fraudulent act.
