MONOLINE INSURANCE COMPANY
An insurance company that delivers guarantees to its issuers, usually in the form of credit wraps that tend to enhance the issuer’s credit. These insurance companies began giving wraps for municipal bond issues. But now gives credit enhancements to other bond types such as collateralized debt obligations and mortgage backed securities.
