MONOPOLY
A situation where a single company or group owns all or almost all of the market for a specific product or service. It is characterized by having no competition or being the sole provider of products or service, which often leads to high prices and inferior goods. In a strict academic definition, it is a market with a single company. In instances where a sole firm holds monopoly power, it will be forced to divest its assets.
