MUNICIPAL ASSISTANCE CORPORATION - MAC
An independent corporation formed by New York to provide financial aid and fiscal oversight. It had drained all lending firms and was no longer able to issue any debt underwritten. MAC was authorized to sell bonds released by New York to let cash flow to go back to its government.
