NIIP
It refers to the stock of foreign assets of a nation minus its foreign liabilities. It may also be defined as the overseas assets value owned by a nation minus the domestic assets value owned by foreigners. When a negative NIIP figure occurs, it means that the foreign liabilities of a nation exceed its foreign assets, whereas a positive NIIP figures shows that a nation’s foreign assets surpass its liabilities.
