OPTIMUM CURRENCY AREA THEORY
This theory was popularized by economist Robert Mundell in 1961. This currency theory is based on geographical area that implements a fixed exchange rate regime. It may benefit a region through increasing rate but must outweighs the costs of giving up the national currency as an instrument to adjust monetary policy to be effective.
