RECONSTRUCTION FINANCE CORPORATION - RFC
The United States government created this agency to help troubled banking sector in the years after the stock market crash of 1929. It was approved by Congress to start business in 1932 with an obligation to provide emergency loans to banks that were in danger of failing.
