SEC FEE

SEC Fee is a nominal fee under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934. It is an additional cost of transaction attributed in the exchange-listed equities’ sale. Typically, the SEC fee is separated from any other fees like associated brokerage commissions and fees. The SEC fee was always 1% of the dollar value’ one three-hundredth of the dollar value of sold equities prior to 2007. Then it changed to 1% of one eight-hundredth of the the dollar value of sold equities after 2007.
