SELL IN MAY AND GO AWAY
‘Sell in May and go away’ is a famous saying in the financial world. It generally serves as a warning to the investors. It means that investors should sell their stocks on the month of May for them to be able to avoid the seasonal equity decline on the markets. The Sell In May And Go Away may be considered a strategy where investors sell in May and buy in November. It is common notion in the financial world that the months of May until October are volatile. In retrospect this strategy works better than an investor who stays in the market for the whole year.
