THEODORE W. SCHULTZ
American agricultural economist who received the 1979 Nobel Prize in Economics, along with Saint Lucian economist William Arthur Lewis, for his research in development economics. His work focused on the problems of developing nations and the role of investment in human capital for economic development. He also wrote and edited several books on agriculture and education.
