TREASURY BILL - T-BILL
Short-term debt obligation with a maturity of less than one year. Backed by the US government, these debts are sold in denominations from $1,000 up to $5 million and issued through a bidding process at a discount from parity. The holder generates the return from the bond’s appreciation.
