UNSPONSORED ADR
Unsponsored ADR is an ADR or American depositary receipt from the depositary bank that does not involve and does not have the permission of the foreign issuer whose stocks control the ADR. Therefore unsponsored ADRs are outside the jurisdiction of the issuer unlike in a sponsored ADR. Unsponsored ADRs are typically issued by depository banks on investor demands and is traded OTC or over-the-counter however the benefits and voting rights of shareholders are not included in the unsponsored ADRs.
