UPSIDE/DOWNSIDE RATIO
Upside/Downside Ratio is a technical indicator of a momentum of a chosen market at any given time. It displays the relationship between the volumes of advancing and declining issues in an exchange. The ratio is determined by the following formula:
Advancing Issues / Declining Issues
where the advancing issues is the total volume traded of securities whose close is above their opening price while declining issues are the same except the close is below their opening price.
