USEFUL LIFE
Useful Life is a projection of the length of time a person can utilize in a trade or business setting an income-producing item. Typically, useful life is attributed to the time of usefulness or duration of utility of an item to the business it belongs to. It is not, in popular belief, how long the item will last in its lifetime. A business’s or a property’s useful life is affected by various factors like the age of the item when it was obtained, its repair policy, the environmental conditions of the company, and the frequency of use. Identical types of items have varying useful life due to the mentioned factors and other more rare factors like economic changes, law ratification, and technological developments.
