500 SHAREHOLDER THRESHOLD
Legislation requiring additional disclosure of private firms, as per Section 12(g) of the Exchange Act. The rule obliges firms with more than 499 investors to disclose details on their financial performance. Even though these companies may still remain private, they must submit documents like public companies.
