ABNORMAL SPOILAGE
The wrecking or waste of inventory over the expected in normal business processes. Abnormal spoilage may result from an inefficient operations or broken machinery , and is given at least partial consideration for prevention. In the accounting context, it is recorded as a separate item – loss from abnormal spoilage.
