ABSOLUTE BREADTH INDEX - ABI
An indicator in the market that is used for determining the market's volatility levels without factoring in price direction. The calculation is done by determining the absolute value of the number of advancing issues subtracted with the number declining issues. In a typical situation, huge numbers connotes the increase in volatility, which may result to significant changes in the coming weeks' stock prices.
