ACTIVE BOX
A physical location within a brokerage where the securities are being kept. These securities are often held as collateral for the margin position of the customers. The collateral is utilized to secure broker loans, which is the amount lent to investors and brokers by banks. This amount is employed to finance the inventory stock of brokers the underwriting of municipal and corporate securities.
