ACTUARIAL GAIN OR LOSS
Loss or gain coming from the difference between the estimates and actual experience in the pension plan of a company. The actuarial gains and losses are employed when pension plans are accounted for due to the need of creating assumptions about the length of employee tenure, future rate of salary increases, the expected rate of return plan assets and appropriate discount rate for the plan obligations.
