An issued bond that will serve as a payment for an another outstanding bond. The newly issued bond usually has a lower rate compared with the older outstanding bond.

A kind of bond issuance in which the new band will be sold for a lower rate than those outstanding ones. The proceeds will be then used for investment, and once the older bonds is ready to be called then it will be paid off with proceeds from the investment.
