ADVERSE POSSESSION
The real estate law principle which permits a person to claim a legal of an another man's land which is in his/her possession for an extended period of time. The land claimed under the adverse possession principle does not oblige a payment from the claimant, but does require a proof from the claimant that the land possession is real, exclusive, notorious and open, hostile, or adverse and continuous.
