AGENCY MBS PURCHASE
The purchase transaction of mortgage-backed securities given by enterprises sponsored by the government such Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, or Ginnie Mae. The term is often used to denote the $1.25 trillion program of the U.S. Federal Reserve to purchase agency mortgage-backed securities that started on January 5,2009 up to March 31,2010.
