ALLOWANCE FOR DOUBTFUL ACCOUNTS
This is a contra-asset account that takes note the part of the receivables of the company that it expects not to be collected. This allowance is just an estimate of the receivable of the company that they expect will not be paid by their customers. But the payment behavior of the customers is not affected and reflected by the estimate.
