ASSET DEFICIENCY
It is a situation wherein the liabilities of a company exceed its own assets. It is a sign that a company is suffering from financial distress and it shows that the company has the possibility to default on its credit obligations leading to a bankruptcy. For a publicly traded company, asset deficiency may cause it to be delisted from the stock exchange.
